“Light breezes and clear skies, small stories, light melancholies. Matteo Negrin’s music is reassuring, taking the listener by the hand and leading him – without ever letting him get lost – to open, calm, reassuring places. If we wanted to frame it, a little forcedly, “ Jouer sans frontieres ” could be defined as a classy “easy listening” proposal, based as it is on recurring and slightly hypnotic themes (a little like Ludovico Einaudi. never too deep, never too developed or varied). The guitarist from Turin and his traveling companions seem to focus more on the beauty and purity of the sound than on the exploration of their musical material. And in this sense it must be said that their work is perfectly successful, because the album is very pleasant to listen to. The music, as the title says, based perhaps on the identical word used in French for playing and playing, is rich in non-invasive echoes of various musical cultures: scents of South America, the Middle East, jazz, obviously.
