Silvano Monasterios - The River (Venezuelan Nonet) (2025) [Hi-Res]

Silvano Monasterios is a Grammy-nominated jazz pianist, composer, and producer known for his technical mastery, rich cultural expression, and collaborations with a wide range of artists. With five solo albums already to his name, his sixth and most ambitious project, titled The River, will be released on April 4, 2025.

Commissioned by Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works Program with support from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, The River is a suite for nine-piece ensemble that blends complex rhythms, improvisation, and deep emotional resonance, serving as a tribute to the bravery and spirit of the Venezuelan people.

Critics have praised Monasterios' work for its sophistication, elegance, and visionary compositional style, with comparisons to Gershwin and recognition from outlets such as All About Jazz, Paris Move, and The New York City Jazz Record, which named The River a “Recommended New Release.”
