With 17th century hornpipes, jazz manouche, Art Song inspired by American and Spanish popular music, Brazilian sambas, French chansons, Klezmer, and much more, Tiny Glass Tavern’s first album is an eclectic compendium of songs that will make you want to dance and sing.

Someone once asked me what my favorite music was. I answered “the music that makes me want to dance.” Obviously, that can cover a wide variety of dance music: fast and slow, joyful and dramatic, familiar and foreign. Many of the tracks on Let us Dance, Let us Sing are inspired by dance music, from the 1700s on - hornpipe, samba, jig, flamenco, and bolero. Others are not. Yet I imagine listeners of different backgrounds and ages listening to each of these songs, feeling moved to dance and sing. What a beautiful vision! So let us pour you a tiny glass of something unexpected and wonderful, so you can dance and sing away.- S. Michaux
