Poni Hoax, a French band formed in the early 2000s by Laurent Bardainne, stood out with their blend of jazz-defying composition and the dark charisma of singer Nicolas Ker. Alongside Arnaud Roulin, Vincent Taeger, and Nicolas Villebrun, they created a distinctive sound mixing the elegance of Roxy Music, the edge of New Order, and the energy of Larry Levan. Their breakout came with “Budapest” and “She’s on the Radio,” followed by acclaimed albums like Images of Sigrid, A State of War, and Tropical Suite. Known for electrifying live shows, the band's journey ended tragically with Ker’s death in 2021. In 2025, they honor their 20-year legacy with the release of Greatest Hits: Everything is Real.
