Catching Flies (George King), a UK-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ, presents Beats & Pieces, a beat tape he created over two weeks in Ojai, California, following a U.S. West Coast tour. The project is a nostalgic homage to the downtempo scene of the 1990s/2000s, inspired by artists like Lemon Jelly, AiM, and Kruder & Dorfmeister.

Known for blending electronic textures with real instrumentation, Catching Flies crafts a melodic, bass-heavy sound that spans hip-hop, house, soul, and jazz. His acclaimed debut album Silver Linings earned praise from outlets like Clash, Future Music, The 405, and The Guardian, with support from major names like Bonobo, Diplo, Caribou, and Loyle Carner. He has performed live across the UK, Europe, Asia, and North America, including DJ sets at Bonobo’s OUTLIER events.

Beats & Pieces represents both a personal creative retreat and a love letter to the genre that shaped him—offering intricate rhythms and laid-back grooves that blur the line between the underground and the mainstream.
