GAZZARA – Criminal Sounds is the latest album from the Italian band GAZZARA, led by keyboardist and composer Francesco Gazzara. It pays tribute to the soundtracks of classic 1960s–70s crime and spy films.

The album reimagines 15 iconic film themes (from Bullitt, Serpico, Mission: Impossible, James Bond, Profondo Rosso, and more) not with orchestras, but with a live jazz-funk-rock band. The result is a dynamic blend of tight grooves, jazz sophistication, and psychedelic textures — from Lalo Schifrin's bossa nova flair to the urban funk of Dave Grusin and Mikis Theodorakis, with powerful nods to Ennio Morricone.

"Criminal Sounds" is more than nostalgia; it’s a vibrant, modern reinvention of the golden era of film music, brought to life through rich, live-band jazz-funk.
