Fire & Flux - Duet and Trio Live at Dumb Records (2025)

Originally from New York City, Richard Gilman-Opalsky and Benjamin Kates first began their musical collaboration in 1998. The Fire & Flux duet played many shows and recorded two albums and one split 7” before leaving NYC for Oregon and Illinois. The duo reunited for a rare Fire & Flux performance on October 11, 2024 on the Dumb Records stage in Springfield, IL with their “brand-new-old-school” fire music. For the final two pieces, Adam Larison joined them making a guitar/sax/drums trio of “Fire & Flux” plus one, and as you can hear, the entire performance was pristinely recorded and mastered.
