The Aaron Bennett Trio - Live at SFJAZZ (2024)

A superlative saxophonist based in the Bay Area, Bennett has worked widely with many of the most adventurous artists on the scene including Vijay Anderson and Lisa Mezzacappa, as well as the Afrobeat band Lagos Roots. A student of Charlie Haden, Wadada Leo Smith, Larry Koonse, and Joe LaBarbara while studying at Cal Arts, Bennett leads his own superb trio with bassist Dan Seamans and drummer Smith Dobson.

Recorded live at the SFJAZZ Center, Joe Henderson Lab in San Francisco, CA. on October 12, 2023, this album features the trio doing unique versions of Thelonious Monk compositions from the iconic album Thelonious in Action.
