A Saharan wind is blowing over Rennes. Mokhtar, a project born in Rennes at the hands of five musical magicians, weaves its electro-jazzy funk, blending elements of hip-hop and traditional music. It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than to describe this unclassifiable style, where amplified bassoon converses with saxophone over a backdrop of keyboards, bass, and drums. Watch out — a desert storm is approaching.
