Q65 - Revolution / Bonus tracks (2018)

Revolution is the debut studio album by the Dutch band Q65, released in 1966 on the Decca Records label. It is considered one of the key releases in the garage rock genre and Nederbeat—a Dutch offshoot of the British beat movement of the 1960s. Q65 was formed in The Hague in 1965. The original lineup included vocalist Willem Bieler, guitarists Joop Roelofs and Frank Nuyens, bassist Peter Vink, and drummer Jay Baar. The band drew inspiration from blues and rhythm & blues, as well as from artists like The Rolling Stones and The Kinks.

Revolution was commercially successful in the Netherlands, selling 35,000 copies—a significant achievement for a country with a relatively small music industry at the time. The album solidified Q65's status as one of the leading bands of the Nederbeat scene. The single “The Life I Live” reached No. 5 in the Dutch charts and became the group’s signature song.

Although Q65's original lineup did not last long, Revolution remains a cult album that influenced later generations of musicians.
