Sidsel Walstad, Ibou Cissokho - Tamoo (2025) [Hi-Res]

Tamoo is the debut collaborative project between Norwegian harpist Sidsel Walstad and Senegalese musician Ibou Cissokho, a master of the kora and a vocalist. The album's title translates from Wolof as "journey," reflecting the musical fusion of two cultures: West African tradition and European classical music.

The album’s music blends the sound of Walstad’s classical and electric harps with the traditional motifs of Cissokho’s kora, incorporating elements of heptatonic and pentatonic scales, polyrhythms, as well as influences from blues and pop music. The instruments intertwine harmoniously through melodies, embellishments, and rhythmic patterns, creating a unique sonic tapestry.
