Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge - Neue Kreise (2025)

Berlin duo Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge (Joshua Gottmanns & Niklas Wandt) return with their second LP, Neue Kreise ("New Circles"), released on Bureau B. Building on their 2020 debut, this album blends yacht rock, jazz fusion, synth-pop, and electro-funk into a polished yet emotionally resonant sound.

Recorded during nocturnal sessions in late 2024 and developed in their retreat by Lake Constance, the 11-track album tackles themes of childhood trauma, male bonding, suburban tension, and family conflict, all delivered with the duo’s signature lyrical wit and sonic creativity.

Musically, Neue Kreise draws on diverse influences—from obscure German/Austrian records and John Martyn’s synth-laced period to New Musik’s soaring pop and Azymuth’s tropical jazz. The result is a rich, genre-defying album full of character, vulnerability, and experimental charm.
