With its third studio album “Paintings of an Exhibition”, the Silent Explosion Orchestra creates an exciting bridge between music and painting. To this end, the SEO has set important paintings of art history for jazz orchestra. At the same time, the journey through art history is combined with a journey through the band’s own history. With Christian Pabst, Manfred Honetschläger, Philipp Schug and Malte Schiller, four top-class musicians with whom the band has worked in recent years have been won over as composers. The other compositions were created by drummer Kevin Naßhan. The title was deliberately based on Mussorgsky’s famous work, as the new compositions are linked by the well-known promenade theme. The band includes great soloists such as Marc Doffey, Peter Hedrich and Ernie Hammes. The Ensemble was led by the Norwegian conductor David Hveem.
