Skirting the shadowlands between southern gothic blues, grunge rock and folk, The Black Zodiac is the broken-but-not-beaten brain child of Tom Walsh - a musician and songwriter from England.

Casting a wry, irreverent and cynical eye over the world, his debut album, The Tyrant is a collection of gothic ruminations on themes of redemption and revenge; tales of have-a-go heroes and characters walking the line between light and shadow.

This is Tom’s second foray into music. Having spent his early life as a musician he put down his guitar to establish a career as a filmmaker. Now a husband and father - this second coming is not just a result of playing and writing, but one of listening and hearing and (hopefully) learning. The Tyrant was written over two months in late 2023 following the death of Tom’s father and acted as a kind of catharsis - a way to in-directly turn grief into something else - something positive, yet real... and so The Black Zodiac was born.
