Inca Taqui: Chants of the Incans is a musical collection performed by the renowned Peruvian singer Yma Sumac, celebrated as a "Princess" of her people. The album showcases traditional Incan chants sung in K’eshwa, a language still spoken by millions in South America. For over 3,000 years, music played a central role in Incan life, with musicians held in high regard. Sumac’s powerful and emotive voice brings the spiritual and cultural richness of her heritage to the wider world. The music was composed and directed by Moises Vivanco, an expert in ancient Andean music, who based the selections on authentic native melodies and rhythms.
