Rare albums by Magwumps, the predecessor of Mamas & Papas and Lovin' Spoonful! The legendary group Magwumps, which included Cass Elliott and Denny Doherty, who later became members of Mamas & Papas, and Zal Yanofsky, who later became a member of Lovin' Spoonful, broke up after only 8 months, but in 1967, an album of their valuable recordings was released. The Coasters and Bo Diddley. From R&B covers by the Coasters and Bo Diddley to originals co-written by Elliott and Jim Hendrix, the album showcases folk-rock numbers with a rare touch of Mamas & Papas.
