Dusty Springfield - Longing (2025) [Hi-Res]

Dusty Springfield moved to Los Angeles in the early 1970s and signed a contract with ABC/Dunhill Records. Her 1973 album Cameo did not become popular, and the following year she worked with producer Brooks Arthur. They recorded the album For Longing, bringing in various songwriters, including Colin Blunstone, Melissa Manchester, and others. The sessions, which took place in 1974, proved emotionally difficult for Springfield, and she postponed the album's release. In 2001, under Arthur's direction, nine tracks were released on CD, and Longing was released as an album, including her first solo release, “Corner of the Sky.” Dusty's recordings from this period demonstrate her professional abilities and personal insecurities, making them powerful and heartbreaking.
