The young violinist Emilija Kortus presents not only a sophisticated dialogue between classical and contemporary works but also documents her personal and profound connection with an exceptionally valuable instrument: a violin crafted by Francesco Ruggeri in 1680. With this production, the outstanding tonal quality of this instrument is being solo-documented for the very first time.
The recorded program combines significant works from the past with contemporary music, offering a unique reflection of Emilija Kortus’s artistic identity. At the same time, the selection of repertoire provides a concise overview of the evolution of violin technique over the past 300 years and highlights the performer’s artistic versatility. As a special feature, the program includes a composition by Miroslav Miletić, with whom Emilija Kortus feels a deep connection due to her heritage.
