Bacon Fat was a band led by harmonica player Rod "Gingerman" Piazza and featuring Buddy Reed (guitar, vocals), Gregg Schaefer (guitar), J.D. Nicholson (vocals, piano), Jerry Smith (bass), and Dick Innes, Jr. (drums). They were signed to the British Blue Horizon label and made two albums before breaking up in the early '70s. ~ William Ruhlmann
A nice early seventies blues number, courtesy of Bacon Fat. Most of these are pretty straightforward and don't stray too far from what the genre imposes, the instrumental tracks are pretty nice, although a bit too repetitive for their own good, it has an extensive use of harmonica and some interesting guitar licks, while the album ender makes this a keeper.
