Liverpool, UK. Following the critically acclaimed (four stars from Mojo, five stars from Morning Star, and a favorable response from BBC 6Music) debut album Spring Tide in 2022, Liverpool-based band The Shipbuilders have released their long-awaited second album This Blue Earth. Lead singles "Daydreaming" and "Hills Of Mexico" lead off the album with a mix of sea-breeze bar jams and epic Morricone-esque escapades. Don't miss these headphone deals

Reteaming with Danny Woodward (B.C. Camplight, Ladytron), the band has expanded to a quintet with a permanent brass section, pushing their sound to its limits. As always, their sound is hard to pin down, but it's packed with the full range of human emotion. With musical influences from artists like Love, The Coral, The Everly Brothers, and Charles Mingus, as well as literary giants like Hemingway, Joyce, and Steinbeck, all mixed together in a wonderful melting pot to create a sound that sounds familiar yet unlike anything you've heard before. This Blue Earth creates a cohesive world that begs to be explored.

Whether it's wild stories ("95 Miles," "Hills of Mexico"), rugged, chaotic sonic swells ("Daydreaming," "Flagpole," "The River"), or glorious blue-eyed melodies ("Polynesia"), vast, epic soundscapes ("On the Run," "La Dolce Vita") or Merseyside gospel cries ("Heavy is the Weight"), the album is never static, predictable, or hackneyed.

In 2024, they supported Michael Head and The Red Elastic Band on several dates on their UK tour, and continue to expand their own "Club Shipwrecked" nights featuring acts such as Andy Bell (Ride/Oasis), By the Sea, Bill Ryder-Jones, Stone Club and Roy. Also appearing at festivals such as Kendal Calling, Sound City and LIMF, The Shipbuilders plan to continue spreading the appeal of This Blue Earth at venues across the UK throughout 2025.
