Mukasamuka is an unclassifiable musical odyssey blending global influences into a vibrant, borderless sound. Built around the compositions of violinist Marion de la Bretèque, the album journeys through the textures of gamelan, Eastern classical, North African folk, and South Indian music, filtered through a cosmopolitan lens. Intertwining violin, baritone saxophone, vocals, and a pulsing rhythm section — with flashes of electric thumb piano — the music celebrates the richness of cultural hybridity in a deeply personal and exploratory form.
