Les premières oeuvres pour piano de Bartok témoignent de l'influence lisztienne, surtout dans l'Etude pour la Main Gauche, la première des Quatre Pièces pour piano. Jeno Jando se propose de mettre l'accent sur ces pièces de jeunesse, comme les Deux Elégies, les Petits Morceaux ou First Term at the Piano. Professeur à l'Académie de Musique de Budapest, il a déjà enregistré l'intégrale des sonates de Mozart et de Beethoven, et l'intégrale de la musique pour piano de Bartok.
