The Dirty Nil - The Lash (2025)

"The Lash" is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band The Dirty Nil, released on July 25, 2025, via Dine Alone Records. Departing from their signature flashy punk style, the album embraces a raw, stripped-down sound, recorded in just over two weeks with producer Vince Soliveri. It captures the band at their most urgent and electrifying, with frontman Luke Bentham channeling catharsis through themes of music industry frustrations and personal struggles, including the dissolution of a relationship. The album’s artwork, designed by UK artist Jack Sabbat, evokes the gritty aesthetic of 80s hardcore punk flyers or a medieval torture dungeon, perfectly complementing its intense, unfiltered energy.
