Continuing their efforts to bridge live and electronic music, 'We Have Each Other: Remixed' sees TC & the Groove Family team up with producers and artists from the UK and beyond for a fresh take on their 2024 EP, with flips ranging from jungle and atmospheric broken beat, all the way to ambient dub soundscapes.

Releasing on Thursday 12th June, the lead single from the project ‘Wile Out’ gets the Manchester junglist treatment from OneDa. Not content with just remixing, she also jumps on board for a verse to create a trinity of Northern MCs going back-to-back alongside SANITY and Franz Von. Elsewhere, Hungarian producer Àbáse provides a grooving hip-hop flip of ‘Stand Strong’, which features a new vocal performance from Franz Von, as well as a verse from his fellow Sheffield music pioneer K.O.G.

Other contributions to the project come from acclaimed underground electronic crate digger and producer Mia Koden, who creates a moving soundscape with her interpretation of ‘Here, Now’. There’s also lush reimagining of the EPs title track from producer and bassist Marla Kether (Little Simz, Loyle Carner), who recruits vocalist Plumm for a memorable performance that provides a reinterpretation of the track’s messaging around love and unity. TC saxophonist Hannah-Mae Birtwell also gets involved in remixer duties, flipping ‘Blessed’ into a dancehall-leaning, house floor-filler under her birty alias.

The original ‘We Have Each Other’ EP documented a time of change for TC & the Groove Family - a new lineup, plus members living in different cities and pursuing various paths - whilst also reflecting the turbulent socio- political climate, and major shifts and changes on the horizon for humanity. However, despite the heavy subject material, the band struck an optimistic, uplifting tone, with MC Franz Von channeling the music into a message encouraging listeners to look around and embrace community, whatever that may look like.
