Elizeth Cardoso (1920–1990) was a Brazilian singer known for her work in samba, choro, and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira). Her career began in the 1930s, and she gained national recognition in the 1950s. In 1958, she recorded "Canção do Amor Demais," an album featuring compositions by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes, which played a key role in the development of Bossa Nova. Throughout her career, she worked with notable musicians such as Jacob do Bandolim and Cartola, performing and recording across various Brazilian music styles. Her voice and interpretation were highly regarded, earning her the nickname "A Divina" (The Divine). Active for over five decades, she remained an influential figure in Brazilian music until her passing, and her recordings continue to inspire new generations of artists.
