That Motown Sound is an album originally released in 1965 by The Funk Brothers, performing under the pseudonym Earl Van Dyke & The Soul Brothers. The Funk Brothers were the house band and the core rhythm section for the iconic Motown Records label, playing on countless hit songs, though their names were often uncredited. This album, reissued in 2018, offers a rare chance to hear them as featured artists. It consists of instrumental versions of classic Motown hits as well as original compositions. The album showcases the musicians' exceptional skill and the unique funky sound that became the signature of Motown.
