Antone’s is 50 this year. Thats 50 years of Blues at Antone’s. That's 31 years of Clifford Antone laying the ground work, and 19 years trying to carry on his mission. That is ‘playing the blues’, but it’s deeper; it’s celebrating folks who deserve greater recognition. Putting them in the spotlight and giving them their flowers. It’s finding the right young artists to pair with them and establishing torch carriers. This album encapsulates that mission. It is “Tell Me One More Time.”
Tell Me One More Time, is a collection of long-lost cuts from Antone’s Records, the club’s in-house label and perhaps the leading promoter of female-fronted blues (Lou Ann Barton, Angela Strehli, Lavelle White, Sue Foley, Barbara Lynn) in record business history. Tell Me One More Time also features never-heard archival commentary from Clifford, about many of the artists and songs within.
