The German melodic rock project Barnabas Sky, led by multi-instrumentalist Markus Pfeffer (Mystery Moon, Lazarus Dream), will release its third album, Over The Horizon, on August 22, 2025 via Pride & Joy Music.. Below, in preview, the video clip for the title Platform Of A Star with David Cagle on vocals.
Multi-instrumentalist Markus Pfeffer (Lazarus Dream, Mystery Moon, Winterland), originally from Kaiserslautern (Germany), launches the third album of his melodic rock project.
True to tradition, Danny Vaughn from Tyketto opens the album again with the epic title "The Sign Of The Wolf". He is represented in two songs, as are David Cagle (Silent Tiger) and Dirk Kennedy (Hittman).
Tony Harnell (TNT) sublimates the elegiac ballad "The Only Way" with his inimitable voice, for which Jorris Guilbaud, keyboardist of Heart Line, contributed to the arrangement of the strings.
Lee Small (Sweet/Lionheart) tackles the groovy "Lone Wolf", reminiscent of the old Queensrÿche. The Swedish Conny Lind (Amaze Me) addresses the theme of social networks on "Book Of Faces", and the eponymous title is interpreted by the promising young talent Deibys Artigas (Preincarnation), originally from Venezuela, who does not let himself be outdone by his recognized colleagues thanks to his distinctive voice and his impressive range.
Pfeffer combines nervous guitar riffs, delicate solos and shimmering synthesizer sounds with catchy melodies. The album features several melodic rock tracks, such as "Platform Of A Star" (David Cagle), as well as titles such as the eponymous track and the epic 9-minute track "Scirocco Sands" (Dirk Kennedy).
Despite the diversity of the voices and the variety of the tracks, the songs remain stylistically homogeneous and form a coherent whole. The mastering by Rolf Munkes (Empire Studios) ensures a transparent and powerful sound, while the futuristic cover is signed by the Argentinian artist Nicolas Oliveros.
