Monologue is Aiko Takahashi personified - each track is a collection of carefully curated electro-acoustic loops, collaged and processed via analogue tape and a myriad of effects, and seamlessly intertwined together.
Made using only what was absolutely necessary - a minimal palette of felt piano, bells, sine waves and field recording - Aiko blends all the fragments together in a series of sonic tales, based on the concept of a monologue.

As they says:

Monologue is an album born from the idea of creation as a monologue.

When an artist creates, they speak in solitude, and only later does the work become a dialogue, resonating with the listener's sensibilities.

Just like a collage is made of independent elements placed together to give new life, this album was created by combining fragments of compositions made at different times.
Now, like magic, they come together, forming a unique, living organism. Each track carries its own quiet monologue, with multiple voices telling different stories, all connected by an invisible thread.

The titles reflect my approach to composition, similar to creating a visual collage or sketches in a notebook. Each piece is a small world, a sonic microcosm made up of interconnected elements.

Truly a description as finely crafted as the music it represents.
