Jonah Kagen's debut album, "Sunflowers and Leather", was entirely written, recorded, and produced by the artist himself in a makeshift studio inside an Airstream trailer. The project was born out of a cross-country journey Kagen undertook following a breakup. The album title captures the duality of the human experience, with "Sunflowers" representing beauty and hope and "Leather" symbolizing pain and resilience. The record delves into themes of self-doubt, heartbreak, spiritual questioning, and the fleeting nature of life, blending raw, intricate guitar work with deeply personal lyrics.
