Donna Loren - Beach Blanket Bingo (2018)

This is the only solo album by Donna Loren released on the Capitol label. She gained popularity after appearing in the Annette Funicello film "Muscle Beach Party" and singing the theme song "Muscle Bustle," written by Brian Wilson, Roger Christian, and Gary Usher. The album is based on the movie "Beach Blanket Bingo" (starring Frankie Avalon and Annette), in which Loren appeared as a character named "Donna," the same as her own name. The album features a mid-60s pop surf & hot-rod sound, including the track "Cycle Set" by Gary Usher & Roger Christian, which showcases the vibrant West Coast culture of the era.
