This album is the debut studio recording from the Breton group Kerbedig. Notably, the album was recorded after more than 22 years of active performing, with approximately 500 appearances at fest-noz and fest-deiz events. The release is a collector's 3-CD box set containing 40 tracks, created primarily for dancers.

The album's music is entirely true to its title, designed for a Fest-noz (Breton for "night festival"). This is a traditional Breton festival featuring group dancing to live music, which is a vital part of Brittany's social and cultural life. The Fest-noz has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Therefore, this album serves as an authentic collection of music for traditional Breton dances.
