Orgy of the Damned is the sixth studio solo album by British-American GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH, released on May 17, 2024 on Gibson Records. The album is a collaborative blues cover project featuring many musicians and singers, including Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Chris Robinson, Tash Neal, Steven Tyler and Beth Hart.
The album was preceded by the release of two singles; covers of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" and Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well" were released on March 8 and April 12, 2024, respectively. And on the day of the album's release, SLASH also unveiled the third single and a new video for "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" featuring Demi Lovato's powerful vocals. The stellar blues album Orgy of the Damned is a collection of 12 dynamic songs that bring the blues to life and present both well-known and little-known songs for a wide range of listeners. It's a nostalgic nod to the past, where SLASH brings songs to life with his inimitable guitar playing, collaborating with his musician friends. On Orgy of the Damned, everything was performed live in the studio with an emphasis on improvisation, resulting in a collection of energetic, lively and unpolished songs. Orgy of the Damned demonstrates a little-known aspect of SLASH's musical prowess. Although he has always used a wide range of styles and genres, the new album offers a rare opportunity to discover a unique side of his work, which he draws inspiration from the blues.
