Canned Heat - Finyl Vinyl (2024) CD-Rip

Legendary blues-rock band Canned Heat has released the surprise release of Finyl Vinyl, their first studio LP in over 15 years. Canned Heat appeared on the Los Angeles blues scene in the 60s, becoming pioneers of blues rock. They combined the raw energy of Chicago blues with elements of psychedelic rock, creating a powerful and improvisational sound at the same time. The band, led by vocalist Alan Wilson and guitarist Bob Hite, released a number of influential albums before disbanding in the early 70s. Despite the line-up changes, Canned Heat continues to perform and record in the 21st century.
Drummer Fito de la Parra, the only remaining original member, described the recording sessions as a chance to return to our roots and celebrate the music that brought us here. Judging by the track listing, Joe Bonomassa and Dave Alvin took part in the recording.
Finyl Vinyl is an exploration of the band's signature sound - a mix of blues, rock and boogie. Song titles like One Last Boogie and So Sad (The World's in a Tangle) are their old song from the 70s, hinting at the ongoing boogie-blues theme.
The music media noted the strong performances of new guitarist and vocalist Jimmy Vivino. Some reviewers pointed out the slightly melancholic tone, interpreting the name Finyl Vinyl as the band's farewell.
