Ekaterina Litvintseva's latest album features dazzling solo piano arrangements of iconic ballet scores by Prokofiev, Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky. The album includes Prokofiev’s own selection from Romeo and Juliet, Guido Agosti’s version of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, and Mikhail Pletnev’s virtuosic take on The Nutcracker. The recital concludes with three lively encore pieces — a waltz from Delibes’ Copp鬩a, Les Sauvages by Rameau, and a Baroque dance by Lully. These arrangements transform the pianist into both narrator and interpreter, highlighting the music’s melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic subtleties in a more intimate form. Already acclaimed for her recordings of Chopin and Rachmaninoff, Litvintseva continues to impress with her blend of sensitivity and confidence, confirming her growing stature in the classical music world.
