Dino Jelusić has earned a reputation as one of the most versatile singers of the rock scene, and with "Apolitical Ecstasy" his band is now ready to further consolidate this reputation under the banner JELUSICK. After the success of the acclaimed debut "Follow The Blind Man" (scored nine out of ten points at that time) in 2023, the group is now returning with ten new tracks that confidently go towards hard and heavy rock.
What distinguishes this album is not only Jelusić's sheer vocal power, but also the close interaction of the band, whose riffs and rhythms are both concise and relentless. The album combines modern esprit with classic rock sensibility: energetic choruses and powerful guitar riffs run like a red thread through all the songs and seem to be created for the big stage from beginning to end. Songs like the opener "Jaws Of Life" immediately captivate the listeners with their intensity, while the title track conveys both urgency and finesse.
"Seasons", "Fool In Rain" and "Torn" slow down the tempo significantly. Especially the latter two pieces almost approach ballad character, thus ideal stages on which Dino can unfold all the power and expressiveness of his voice. Beyond the music, the physical editions of the album make it a collector's item. A limited vinyl pressing in full-tone aquamarine color with only 500 copies, individually numbered, offers fans a tangible piece of rock history, while CD and digital formats ensure wider accessibility.
Jelusić himself is not a newcomer to the scene. Through Animal Drive, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and collaborations with legends such as David Coverdale and Mike Portnoy, his worldwide fan base has grown steadily in recent years. With "Apolitical Ecstasy" he also proves that his own project is in no way inferior to the giants of heavy rock. For all those who long for powerful, uncompromising rock in 2025 and/or are collectors, this album is a real "treat". Mr. Jelusić seems to be doing a lot of things right at the moment. In any case, listen to pure people.
