"Io E Mara" is the 1969 debut album by Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Alberto Baldan Bembo, who would later become one of the masters of the golden age of Italian soundtracks. The album is presented as a soundtrack to a non-existent film, chronicling 24 hours in the life of a couple in love. Musically, it is a continuous suite of ten tracks that elegantly blends cinematic lounge, bossa nova, and jazz. Bembo's signature piano and organ sound is complemented by the ethereal vocals of the singer Mara and atmospheric sound effects, creating an intimate and dreamlike mood. The record is a prime example of the maestro's early talent and features a cult pop-art cover by Guido Crepax.
