Izar is the new solo release from electro-acoustic ambient artist Serena Gabriel, co-produced with Steve Roach for the Soundquest label. The album explores Gabriel's balance of ancient and modern instrumentation, revealing a luminous, evocative palette.

Named after the brilliant double star in the Boötes constellation, Izar becomes a talisman for traversing inner and outer space. Each piece unfolds like a visionary landscape, connecting to the timeless wonder of stargazing across cultures and centuries.

With instruments including lyre, flute, bass, harmonium and voice alongside Hydrasynth, analog modular, shortwave radio, samplers and loopers, Gabriel weaves sound constellations spanning both cosmos and psyche. The result is spacious, reverent, and deeply transportive, offering an invitation to step behind the veil and enter the infinite expanse.
