Virtuoso jazz pianist Mike Jones has created a new live album, Mike Jones With Strings, recorded at Vic’s Supper Club in Las Vegas and released via Capri Records. For this recording, Mike Jones assembled a drummerless trio featuring guitarist Graham Dechter and bassist Alex Frank, both frequent touring partners of Jeff Goldblum. This specific lineup format draws directly from jazz chamber traditions pioneered by Nat King Cole in the 1930s and later popularized by Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown in the 1950s, relying on the guitar and bass to maintain the foundational rhythm and groove.

The album's repertoire centers on classic standards from the Great American Songbook.
