Ike Quebec - The Complete 45 Sessions (Remastered) (2025) [Hi-Res]

The collection "The Complete Blue Note 45 Sessions" features recordings by saxophonist Ike Quebec for the Blue Note label between 1959 and 1962. Quebec was a significant figure for the label back in the 1940s, not only as a musician but also as a talent scout who discovered bebop stars like Thelonious Monk.

After a difficult period in the 1950s, he made a triumphant return. His full-throated yet relaxed playing style was perfectly suited for ballads, blues, and soul jazz, bringing him renewed success. This era was marked by the recording of classic tracks and several iconic albums, including "Heavy Soul" and "Blue & Sentimental". The musician's career was tragically cut short in 1963 when he died at the age of 44. This reissue is a high-quality, all-analog vinyl set created from the original master tapes.
