Sonya Belaya - Dacha (2025) [Hi-Res]

New York-based pianist and composer Sonya Belaya is releasing her new album, Dacha. This song cycle is dedicated to themes of loss, cultural memory, and resilience, exploring personal and ancestral grief against the backdrop of the diasporic experience. Inspired by Soviet poetry, bard traditions, and Eastern European folk songs, the album reflects the artist's confrontation with her family's tragic history. Dacha is an experimental, genre-defying work that serves as both a personal elegy and a communal ritual for reckoning with intergenerational trauma and displacement.
