"The Sheer Action of Fini Tribe" is a retrospective anthology by the Scottish post-punk band Fini Tribe, covering their most productive period from 1982 to 1987. The collection, compiled and remastered by the band members themselves, presents a wide spectrum of their music: from demo recordings and live performances to professional BBC sessions, including the legendary 1985 John Peel Session and original singles. Originating from the Edinburgh scene of the early 80s, the band drew inspiration from the work of artists like Throbbing Gristle, Wire, and Can, as well as from angular funk, modern film, and art. The anthology is supplemented with archival photographs and essays.
