Jessica93 is the solo project of French musician Geoffroy Laporte, emerging from the underground squat scene. His music is a dark and harsh hybrid, created using looped guitar, bass, and a drum machine. The project's style is difficult to categorize into a single genre: it combines elements of grunge, punk, cold wave, and metal, but does not belong to any of them. Jessica93's lyrics are provocative and poetic, touching on themes of urban despair, dark romance, drugs, and anti-authoritarian protest. The new album, produced by Arthur Satàn, is notable for its switch to the French language and explores love as a destructive yet alluring force, all while maintaining a characteristically raw and uncompromising sound.
