Payita Solà - Payita Solà (2025)

Payita Solá, born in Salta, Argentina, in 1940, was the daughter of the renowned musician Gustavo "El Payo" Solá. From a young age, she studied music, mastering the piano, violin, vocals, and guitar. Her career began with performances in family ensembles and recordings for the Philips label. Her professional debut took place at the prestigious Cosquín folklore festival in 1966, after which she toured extensively in Argentina and recorded for CBS Columbia. In 1969, Solá moved to France, where she lived for seven years, continuing her musical activities by performing on radio and television, giving concerts, and recording two albums. Later, she participated in cultural exchanges in the United States and taught Argentine folklore in France. Upon returning to Argentina, she settled in Bariloche, recorded the CD "Mama naturaleza," and, starting in 2000, participated in the family show "The Heritage of Payo Solá." Since 2010, she has been a member of the ancestral music project "Sonidos de América," continuing to promote the cultural heritage of Argentina.
