This album is a hard bop project recorded live at The Alluvion concert hall in Traverse City, Michigan. The record conveys the unique energy of the evening, inspired by the local landscapes. The venue's founder, pianist Jeff Haas, participated in the recording, contributing one of the compositions, while artist Lisa Flahive created the cover art in real time during the performance. The album's concept and sound are reminiscent of classic jazz sessions from the Blue Note era of the 1960s.
