Takao - The End of the Brim (2025) [Hi-Res]

Takao has released his second album, "The End of the Brim," seven years after his debut, "Stealth." The new release moves away from previous ambient and environmental influences towards "universal listenability" with more concrete intensity, supple rhythms, and developed melodies. Composers Ken Muramatsu and Toshifumi Hinata, as well as studies with Ichiko Hashimoto, influenced this musical growth. The album consists of ten tracks: seven keyboard pieces and three vocal compositions featuring Yumea Horiike, Cristel Bere, and Atsuo Fujimoto, which are integrated into the overall flow. Engineer Hiroshi Haraguchi mixed half of the album. The use of classic synthesizers combined with Takao's vision gives the album a timeless sound, pointing to possible future paths for pop music.
