Niillas Holmberg, Pauli Lyytinen - Naarattu Laulu (2025) [Hi-Res]

Sámi poet-musician Niillas Holmberg and saxophonist-composer Pauli Lyytinen are set to release their collaborative album, Naarattu laulu, on October 24, 2025, via Eclipse Music. The album will be available on streaming platforms, CD, and vinyl, with the vinyl edition including a 12-page poetry booklet featuring Holmberg’s poems and photographs. The work is described as a deeply evocative sonic piece that merges traditional joik, spoken word, saxophone, percussion, and live electronics to form a mythic and poetic soundscape. The creators consider it an artistic act of invocation or ritual aimed at retrieving something timeless. The album's title is drawn from Holmberg's new poetry collection, Naarattu, due to be published earlier in October 2025, and both works form a cohesive, multidimensional artistic expression connected by shared themes and imagery. This recording captures their shared vision, which began developing through performances in 2021.
