Hu Vibrational - Vibe Ride (2025) [Hi-Res]

Adam Rudolph has released Vibe Ride, the sixth album by his Hu Vibrational project and his 60th career release as a leader. The album represents the most complete realization of the "Sonic Mandala" concept, which Rudolph describes as an exploration of a trance-like groove and an ancient cyclical musical structure that predates written history and is preserved, for instance, in the traditions of the Ituri Forest peoples. The album's creation was organic, aided by prior touring experience and the long-standing collaboration of the ensemble (including Alexis Marcelo, Jerome Harris, and others). The Vibe Ride musicians bring their skill to connect contemporary sonic languages with this ancient vibrational lineage. The "Sonic Mandala" concept is described as a spiraling motion of sound rich in overtones that shifts the listener into active participation, creating a state mystics call resonance. Hu Vibrational's music on Vibe Ride merges elements of world music, electronica, and improvised jazz, utilizing organic orchestration, layered arrangements, electronic processing, percussion, and diverse rhythmic foundations to balance structure and sonic color. The audiophile LP was recorded, mixed, and mastered by James Dellatacoma at Bill Laswell's Orange Studio.
