The Blasters - Non Fiction (2025) [Hi-Res]

The Blasters' 1983 album "Non-Fiction" was recorded with the support of major label Warner Bros., resulting in a larger and more polished sound compared to their debut work. Although this production style was not always beneficial to the music, the band's performance remained excellent, featuring Phil Alvin's powerful vocals, Dave Alvin's sharp guitar, and a strong rhythm section. On this record, Dave Alvin emerged as an even more mature songwriter, presenting tracks like "Red Rose" and "Long White Cadillac." While the album might have initially seemed like a disappointment following their acclaimed debut, "Non-Fiction" stands as an outstanding work and is considered one of the best roots rock albums of the 1980s.
