Jess Gillam is a phenomenal young saxophonist who at 27 has already made her mark in the world of classical music. When she was 11, she started what is now an annual music festival in Ulverston, a small town in the Cumbria region of England, where her parents run a traditional English tea room and grocery shop. At 17, she became the first saxophonist in history to make the finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. Find out more about Gillam’s latest project, Prism, on New Classical Tracks with host Julie Amacher.
